Case Studies
Lamp Body and LensSketches followed by full CAD drawings were supplied prior to the body blow mould tool being machined, in house, from solid aluminium plate. An injection moulded lens completed the unit. Novel designs featuring brass inserts and extruded seal installation groove along with twin skin technology have made this product unique, economically viable and immensely strong. |

Expansion TankSpecialist vehicle header tank utilised HDPE material to form detailed neck thread and the design specification necessitated the inclusion of a moulded insert to form the support bracket. Heavy wall sections required post cooling jigs to maintain visual quality. Machining the neck for pressure retention, and finally fitting, using ultrasonic assembly methods, the overflow pipe. Inpress Plastics were chosen for their experience in the technical blow moulding field. They supply to customers connected to the automotive sector, many such components. |

Header Tank for RV Central Heating SystemThis homopolymer polypropylene tank is blow moulded and features side flanges flush with the back surface to facilitate wall fixing and is mounted in various vehicles. The twin outlets enable water to flow to and from the installed water circuitry. The injection moulded neck form is inserted at the blowmoulding station and fuses to the blown vessel to avoid leakage; the detailed neck allows the use of a standard cap with a nine pound per square inch pressure valve feature. The tank was designed by the customer with input from one of the South’s leading blow moulding companies, Inpress Plastics Ltd. |

Automotive Screen Wash ContainerThis very complex shaped screen wash reservoir is manufactured in High Density Polyethylene and has its fixing brackets inserted into the blow moulded component after being, themselves, injection moulded. This allows for accurate fixing positions without post moulding operations. The pump aperture is cut and a grommet inserted in the hole, followed by the pump. Pump power supplied from vehicles twelve volt system. Filler neck cap with security strap is clipped to the leading edge via a moulded post. |

Blowmoulded Plant Pot TrolleyThis twin-skinned component has been designed for longevity, durability and aesthetic consideration. It features pinch welded areas to give the structure a honeycomb internal effect. Four zinc coated steel castor studs are rigid moulded into the finished ‘Ezemova’ and the specialised castor is snapped into place by the end user. The article has a three year guarantee and is almost certainly the strongest trolley made. The plant pot, up to 375mm diameter at base, sits inside the walls of the saucer, whilst the castors partially hidden from view are only 3mm from the pot. This makes for excellent stability. The load bearing ability of this product is 100 Kgs. Available from Inpress Plastics Ltd direct |

Convoluted Heater DuctThis component is blowmoulded in copolymer polypropylene and was commissioned for specialist use. The single part replaced seven different alloy fabrication and flex tubing components and easily copes with the required temperatures involved. The bulkhead mounted top box was fitted, utilising a hot melt adhesive, to act as protection with a stainless steel mesh from unwanted debris. |
