Our environmental policy

Inpress Plastics Ltd has committed to six initiatives in its social responsibility program. These commitments have been made because we believe that: Both as a business and as individuals our success and wellbeing are intrinsically linked to that of the community that we live in.
  • The reduction of energy and waste consumption

  • The use of renewable energy
  • Encouraging a waste and energy reduction philosophy internally within the company and encouraging others to do the same.

Recycling

We commit to use recycled plastics to produce our products whenever possible. We do so by clearly identifying opportunities for their use and working with the UK recycling industry to source suitable supplies of recycled material. We have also invested in equipment to handle and reprocess plastic in the most efficient manner.

Energy Usage

We have signed up to the government's climate change levy opt out scheme. In doing so we have committed to reduce the energy we use to process each tonne of plastic by 20% over a 5-year period.

Waste Management

We are committed to the most environmentally friendly usage of the waste that we produce. Our waste is sorted for recycling. The remaining material is burned in a 5KW generator to produce electricity. The exhaust fumes from the generator are filtered to environmental standards. While the ash that is produced from the generator is recycled into aggregate.

Design for less

Our team will listen to your requirement – all the features, functions and details of your product. Then, utilising Design for Manufacture principles, our designers will work closely with our production team and tooling engineers. This method ensures that your product is designed with full consideration of its production processes, to ensure the most efficient and cost effective manufacture.

Our designers can work with you to reduce the amount of plastic you use in each product by designing the product more efficiently and for  optimization.
We aim to reduce the environmental impact of the products we design and manufacture by:

  • Reducing the amount of parts
  • Reducing the amount of processes
  • Reducing the amount of material
  • Reducing part weights for transportation
  • Using recycled plastic when possible

We will design you a product that is realistic and ready for manufacture.
